Posted the finished art page for these designs with yesterday's portfolio day post, but here's a closer look at Potted Golems!

Originally I'd drawn it with pen while out of the house, and later decided I wanted to try and take the concept further.

Page of drawn designs for a creature type I call “Potted Golems”! Living creatures made of magical plants that have taken over their vessels. From left to right, top to bottom we have: Standard Teracotta Pot: A golem made from sprouting plants in a cracked terracotta plant pot. The cracks from the creature’s “mouth”, and allow for holes to form soil into hands and extend roots out into feet. “Recycled” Cup: A styrofoam cup with a dandelion planted in it (and a plastic straw), turned into one of these creatures. It can’t crack the cup enough to get more than a single spread of roots out for one foot to hop along on, but it continues on regardless. Flower Basket: A golem made up of a large number of flowers in a woven basket. Instead of soil and roots, its “hands” are stray leaves and petals that have fallen from the flowers it carries, and its “feet” are the bottom ends of the ribbon tied at the bade of its basket handle. Old Potion Bottle: A glass bottle not rinsed of life potion thoroughly enough before being used as a vase, resulting in a potted golem! It is cracked to form its mouth and limbs in a similar way to the Standard Terracotta Pot golem, but instead of soil, it’s filled with and using water, with a lovely flower standing tall over the edge of the bottle. Mini Succulent: A potted golem made of a small succulent plant in a miniature porcelain pot. Its exterior isn’t cracked, but instead its hands are made of floating soil and rocks from the top layer of the pot, and it has feet/eyebrows made of pebbles too. A sketchy notes page that goes into more detail on the anatomy and history of Potted Golems as a creature! At the very top is a little doodle of a witch watching her potion bottle spring to life as a Potted Golem, with text next to it that says "Potion Bottle breeds were the first ones! A witch in training didn't rinse a used bottle well enough before using it as a vase." Under that is a little drawn diagram of a vase, showing the ratios of Life Potion, Water (or soil), and Soul Host plant needed to assemble a golem. To the left of that is a sketch of the Potion Bottle golem, with arrows and captions pointing to places on its body, stating "If vessel is solid, it will usually crack to allow for limbs" and "Plant health measured by appearance OR eye brightness" Under the assembly diagram is 3 sketches of different plants, with the caption "Any plant works!" above it. The bottom left of the page has sketches of a terracotta pot golem in attack mode, one being watered, and 3 more shapes/plants for golems not featured in the initial artwork. The bottom right shows a terracotta pot golem being "dismantled", as the plant is removed from the old pot to be put into a new basket vessel, the old pot going lifeless and the dirt that was once limbs piling up on the ground. The written text above and below this drawing reads "Remember, the soul IS the PLANT! Golems can be dismantled by removal, OR replanted into new pots for a makeover!" My initial rough sketches for each of the potted golem varieties I included in my full art, sketches in blue pencil brush! Next to it on my canvas is a zoomed-in picture of the oiriginal pen-and-paper sketch, the very first design for the Potted Golem (a Terracotta pot one)

My illustrated character design, dubbed “The Dancing Dark”. A humanoid being with a “face” and “hair” made of shadows leaking out from their big hat and parts of their snazzy suit. Instead of a tailcoat they have 4 floating panels attached to their waist that resemble butterfly wings. Besides the wide brim hat and suit top, they also have on vertically striped pants, pointy dress shoes, and white gloves (that also show they may have claws as well). Their tie and earrings are designed to look like the chrysalis of a butterfly. They are surrounded by butterfly-like entities that use their wings and antennae to emote like sets of eyes (should I call them Butterfl-eyes?) My drawing of a shiny Hydrapple (Pokemon), decorated like a giant supreme candied apple! Hydrapple itself is a light green 5-headed serpent with two tails, coming out of a candied apple base that’s usually red, or caramel in the case of the shiny. The main of these heads sits in the middle, with horns and a green apple skewered on one! For my candied Hydrapple, I used the shiny for the caramel base, but gave it different layers of cool coatings/toppings! The top layer is covered in dripping caramel, a white chocolate swirl, and dollops of whipped cream. The second layer is darker caramel with peanut pieces. The third layer is white chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. The fourth layer is smooth milk chocolate. And at the bottom, the caramel returns with apple slices decorating the bottom around the base of the apple!

One of the last big pieces I finished in 2025 was this Persona 3 illustration!
Tried a lot of new, experimental stuff, especially on all the symbolism from the game I put in here, but I really like how it turned out!

A Persona 3 fan art illustration I drew at the end of 2025! It shows the dark blue silhouette of the MC in a calm watery background (like Reload), with his lighter blue eye and bright red SEES patch visible. He’s holding his Evoker at the ready as a breeze blows his hair, clothes, and some bright blue flower petals that match him gently across the canvas. Underneath him, where his shadow would be on the floor, is the while silhouette of chains and the face of his persona. The outside of the canvas is framed in the shape of a coffin (like what normal people turn into during the Dark Hour), with black and white tile patterns that slowly fade into black and bright green like the Dark Hour’s full moon. There are carnations on the edge of the tile framing, each one a color representing the different party member characters from the game. Pink, darker blue, scarlet, teal, yellow, white, gray, orange, and a torn dark red one. Light blue petals are scattered around them all, and a glowing blue butterfly rests on the yellow one.

I can now say why I’ve been so quiet this year!

White Lie, Page 1 Prince Nord and Palette are walking together through the woods. Nord: Ah…They’re going to lock me up again for leaving town for sure this time… Palette: (His stupid dad…) Palette swipes a leaf stuck to Nord’s head off of him, surprising him, turn turns back and shrugs. Palette: Well! Good thing you were shadowing my duties and errands in town ALL DAY! Keeping me in line, yep! Next, Lilica approaches Palette with a red flower clutched in her paws. Lilica: Someone keeps leaving me flowers while I’m not looking! Cute… Lilica: I wonder who? Palette has a smirk on her face as she remembers seeing Frizberg picking flowers earlier that day, clearly not wanting to be seen. She pauses, thinks. Then shrugs again, looking off to the side. Palette: No idea, but hey! It’s nice, yeah? A transition to night happens, with Palette sitting alone. Looking out into the starry sky, smiling with just a bit of desperation. Palette: …Yeah. A little white lie never hurt anyone too bad. Even helps sometimes. She looks down, solemnly, sadly at the bell on her collar and cradles it in one paw. Palette: …It’s better than truth, sometimes. White Lie, Page 2 We cut to a memory of Palette as a kitten, receiving her bell from a shadowy force we can’t see anything but the hand of. Palette’s little paws are shakily held out for it, tears sliding down her face as she accepts it. ???: For you, my girl. I’m sorry, it was…all I could recover. She would have wanted some part of her to stay by your side, though. After all- The bottom of the page turns into a clash of colors, the top half dripping down in rainbow and white light, the bottom half dripping upwards in pure black. Fairy, sword, and palette symbols adorn the rainbow side, while eyes lurk in the pitch black. Palette stands holding her bell, caught in the middle of it all, fairy features drawn around her in the rainbow side, and ripples in the ink below surrounding her. ???: You have a most difficult role to play in this world. The secret fate that keeps us balanced. White Lie, Page 3 The page is completely black, with Palette drawn facing away from the viewer, sword and shield at the ready, ripples in the blackness beneath her feet. She’s outlined in white, with a less solid red outline on the outside. Text on the top and bottom in white reads: “Yours is the color of a new hero” However there is also upside down text in red, reading: “_______, tell no one. You’ll only put them in danger.” White Lie, Page 4. Back in reality, Palette is suddenly aware of her friends trying to get her attention. They’ve all found her outside under the stars by herself, and have come to sit with her. ???: ______? _______! Nord: PALETTE! Nord: Are you alright? We came here to sit with you, but you’ve been staring off into space for quite awhile. Palette has a genuine look on her face at them for a sec, before returning to her usual sarcastic smirk, though a little more troubled-looking than usual. Palette: … Palette: Ah…sorry. Just a little tired. She looks back up at the stars with Nord. Palette: But, the stars are pretty tonight, huh? Nord: Oh, yes! You know, I’ve studied some things about stars in my books, and- Nord begins to excitedly yap about stars and the cosmos as Palette smiles at him thinking “(aaaand there he goes…)” offhandedly. Lilica is chatting a bit as well, still holding her flower. Frizberg is sitting with his back mostly turned to the group, loner-style, but is quietly peering and smiling a little at Lilica with the flower. Palette’s thoughts are made known to us, as she looks off privately. Palette: Maybe one day I can tell them everything. But until then… It’s as many lies as it takes to keep them safe. Safer than me, at least.

After beating the game I decided to sketch my trainer and main 3 Pokemon from Legends ZA!
Had a blast with the story. I really love the battle system, it’s so much fun!

In a moment of serendipity, I ended up finishing this piece I’ve been working on for quite awhile now (chipping away between other works) in time for Halloween, AND it’s spooky themed!

An original illustration from me! There’s a cute little cat reaper, in a desaturated blue robe and hood, with a body made of deep purple shadows. She is standing atop a grassy hill of different color stripes that go up in hue (purple at the bottom, then indigo, then blue, then cyan, then light green), and is dotted with flowers in many colors. Her scythe has a crooked, curly purple handle, and two blades (one big one, one smaller one under it). Around her swirls an ethereal swarm of ghostly souls, all in different colors of the rainbow, swirling around the hill and up into the sky. The sky goes from dark purple, to dark blue, to dark teal, and up where the ghosts meet it- it becomes a shiny rainbow of colors leaking down into the rest of the background.

You know, I’ve never drawn them before, but I just…had the unexplainable urge to do a quick drawing of my friend Malamar.

A quick shaded drawing I did of Malamar (Pokemon) on a whim! A squid-like creature with an upside down body structure, purple and magenta in color mostly, with glowing yellow patterns on their body. Their main two tentacles are forming a heart in front of them, because Malamar is everyone’s friend :)

A pink and white bunny/fox like creature with matching pink and white bows on its left ear and its neck. From each bow comes a pair of white ribbon-like feelers, with stripes of pink, blue and sky blue at the ends. It prances happily on a background made of colorful blue, purple and pink splotches My drawing of my art sona, the Pastel Gremlin, in a Sylveon-themed outfit for the X and Y art collab! The gremlin has her usual appearance of pale pink skin and light purple hair with a blue sheen to it, as well as blue eyes and a fur-tipped tail. But instead of her normal sweater and pants, her sweater is white with pink, blue, and sky blue striped patterns, as well as the pink and white bows and ribbons of Sylveon on her neck and left ear.
