ニュースで「新潟のアーケード」と呼称されてるものは，元々「がんぎ」という，雪よけのために庇を伸ばして隣家と数珠つなぎにしたものが起源なので，現在の構造がアーケードと一切変わらないとしても，系統的には異なるもの．昔ながらのがんぎもわずかに見かける
