Honoring the best books of 2024, The Publishing Triangle presents the Judy Grahn Award for Lesbian Nonfiction, the Randy Shilts Award for Gay Nonfiction, the Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry, the Thom Gunn Award for Gay Poetry, the Joseph Hansen Award for LGBTQ+ Crime Writing, the new Jacqueline Woodson Award for LGBTQ+ Children’s/Young Adult Literature, the Leslie Feinberg Award for Trans & Gender-Variant Literature, the Amber Hollibaugh Award for LGBTQ+ Social Justice Writing, the Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction, and the Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBTQ+ Fiction.Special Awards to also be presented include the Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Michele Karsberg Leadership Award, the Betty Berzon Emerging Writer Award, and the Publishing Triangle Torchbearer Award. The purpose of The Publishing Triangle is to further the publication of books and other materials written by LGBTQ+ authors or with LGBTQ+ themes. Founded in 1988, The Publishing Triangle works to create support and a sense of community for lesbian and gay people in the publishing industry, hosting literary readings and offering forums, as well as networking and social opportunities, for members. In addition they sponsor programs to increase awareness of and appreciation for LGBT literature. Free and open to the public. Join us virtually here.
