World Juniors: Three Gophers named to Team USA preliminary roster
On Monday, USA Hockey named 28 players to the preliminary roster for the U.S. National Junior Team. It will be trimmed to 25 after a weeklong training camp in Duluth.

Leaving Winnipeg on Monday, I was the only person at the TSA checkpoint for flights headed to the USA. The workers there told me southbound flights used to be packed. “It all changed about this time a year ago,” one said. “Not sure why.” Then he offered a knowing smirk.
