I think it was a mistake for the community to colonise a platform that explicitly denies sexual content - it's the core of this community! - and communities need boundaries and a core identity. It's great seeing some accounts work around and within that, and grating seeing others capitulate

Instagram is instructive - the move away from X because of enshitification is letting platforms dictate the content that's created and engaged with, and for Instagram that's a move towards influencer driven trending video content. The community has been molded by the platform in negative ways

Totally get your point, really valid to say this is a broader community and should accommodate different interpretations - but the community needs to reckon with what is at it's core and safeguard against the homogenising effect that a broader audience has, and I see platforms incentivising that.

I think i'm somewhat complicit in this, it's hard to engage in the pup space nowadays and not be - but there is a difference between finding and celebrating community and homogenising the space so that it's just all the same?

I'm a cosplayer and it's been a problem there for a while, but cosplay is literally a costume, a different context to deliver and remix the same content. With Kink, this isn't a costume, it's a sexual subculture, and this type of content is rapidly turning the space away from exploring sexuality.

This may be old man posting but - I'm really against the tik-tokification of everything but especially Fetish content. It’s homogenising what used to be - still can be - interesting/unique subcultures into just visually different flavours of delivering the same copycat memes and lip syncs.
