Welp all set for my surgery on Thursday, hoping for the best as if they go in and find any kind of infection then it has to be delayed which ive already missed so much work if I miss anymore im just not sure what im gonna do.

Fully knowing homophobia still is a huge problem for everyone, it was WAY worse 20 years ago. People my age had almost no way to be ourselves safely and now that we are just trying to enjoy life the 'younger gays' do nothing but shit on us for "ew your over 30" or "your being too much"

As a fresh 18 year old finally ready to explore myself we didn't have apps to find people, the internet was just chatrooms, we couldn't be 'out of the closet' without risk of getting disowned/assaulted.

God forbid the elder queers finally feel safe enough to be themselves.

I would much rather be represented by drag queens, leather daddies and pups than by petulant cowards afraid of their own reflection. You are talking about people who never had the option of being seen as "normal people who just happen to be gay" and channeled their pain into self expression, community and art. And who are you? You define yourself not in terms of who you are and what you create but in terms of who you are not and what you lack. These people you hate only seem larger than life because your life is too small and insignificant to fit them.
