This. My mum keeps correcting herself and saying she's listening instead of reading and it makes me sad. And I mostly read on my kindle cos my wrists can't cope with heavy books.

Very happy to be doing this training again! It's especially handy for small voluntary and unfunded groups
Join us for a free online session, on 30th Oct @ 2pm, to explore ways your organisation can be more inclusive – What is an intersectional approach and how can you do it on little to no budget? What does “accessible” really mean? Can we really include everyone?

Sounds plausible, but also every time I hear that problem I find myself shouting "Why do you have a fox! Maybe just leave the fox in the wild and your problem is solved!"

We've just released an accessible, web-based version of our report 'Still Complicated', which explores Bi+ experiences of accessing services and support, and how this can be improved. You can read it here: www.equality-network.org/assets/still...

A lot of older, richer people seem to want to go back in time. I think we should consider that while they may be reactionaries, it could also just be that nostalgia you get for days when your knees didn't hurt so much.

The article then makes it clear that he didn't actually say that, but argues that's what his planned measures amount to. I know it's genocide, but I'd rather we could avoid deception when we call it out given how many outright lies are out there rn

I read a LOT of stuff written at the time as well which supports this view. People were certainly short of a lot of things (like butter and sugar), but it wasn't as miserable as all that. The modern image of the Home Front is based as much on Ministry of Food propaganda as on fact.

Most of them remembered eating meat with nearly every meal and fish and chips on Fridays. This is because offal was unrationed, and many people also had access to rabbit or pigeon as well as the occasional secret pig or chicken...

My mother (90) went to a VE day "celebration" where they made all the old people eat food from war time recipes. She says the Woolton Pie, white blancmange and tinned peaches was the worst meal any of them had ever eaten even during the war.

Why yes I am autistic number 18 in an occasional series - I hate it when Google says it is $famous personage's 115th birthday or whatever, because you can't have birthdays after you die. (You can have anniversaries, but they aren't birthdays.)

If you use slides on Zoom etc please help subtitle users by leaving space at the bottom so subtitles so don't cover the text of your slides. Actually test them with subtitles on while you speak and you'll see what I mean.
