I'm tired of worrying when bans will hit my school libraries (I have both a middle school and high school). I know it's a matter of when, not if. Anytime we ban a book it is a threat to freedom.

I was one of those warning how bad it would be and how Trump 2 would be much worse than anyone complacently assumed.
But even I didn’t have ‘cancel all foreign aid, including to kids with HIV & malaria’ and also ‘let the world’s richest man get access to our private data’ on my 2025 bingo card.

I am a proud Episcopalian and one of my favorite places to worship is the National Cathedral. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking the truth.

Only once in my life have I felt represented by people in NC who had my best interests at heart. I loathe gerrymandering, no matter who does it.

Sue Barton was written before then - it just depends on if you consider it to be YA. I do, but perhaps I am biased. I was obsessed with the series when I was a teenager and I own copies of all of them.

My YA professor in library school (back in the 80’s) taught that the first YA book was Sue Barton, Student Nurse. Am curious as to what others think is the first one.
