Walked the Peaks to Plains Trail today along Clear Creek, Gateway to CCR and back. Cold and sunny!

Out for a walk this evening at Long Lake Regional Park, temps colder than yesterday. The lights were on at the soccer fields, and a crew was doing maintenance there.

Enjoyed a walk around Arvada Reservoir this evening
A small portion of dry grass shoreline extends horizontally from upper left edge of the frame toward the centerline. A muddy portion of shoreline is present along the very bottom of the frame, curving along the right lower edge of the frame, upward where it becomes rocky, and then arching to a point just below a thin line of reservoir wall that extends from the left shoreline. Blue sky along the horizon, fading to progressively lighter shades of purple. The colors of the sky are reflected in reverse order on the surface of the still waters of Arvada Reservoir.

Strip barking on limber pine tree

Limber pine tree (Pinus flexilis) growing amongst scree field rocks on a high elevation mountainside. The tree shows evidence of strip barking, it's possible that abrasion due to high winds or other injuries over the centuries have damaged large areas of the outer tree bark, leaving just strips of healthy bark on the trunk and branches to sustain the tree. Late afternoon walk with two of my kids at Pelican Ponds Open Space. We saw ducks and other aquatic birds on the South Platte River, and enjoyed the swings at the playground.
