I used them also. They do take a percentage of each donation though, so I decided to see if I could just try to give 100% directly to the candidate. I expected it to be easy and for them to be thankful. I got the impression they weren't set up to get direct donations at all. I thought that was odd.

Last year I made an effort to donate directly to a candidate from a different state w/o going thru ActBlue. A few emails back and forth with her staff and they just kept referring me to ActBlue like they weren't even reading my emails. As a result they missed out on any donation at all.

Speaking of Fairfax housing, I met a guy who told me he had installed an illegal "septic system" for a Tuff Shed living quarters with a toilet and a sink somewhere in the hills of Fairfax. I would hate to have my organic vegetable garden downhill of that property.

My election office only reports that they received it, but not that it was counted.

I contacted them and let them know that knowing that it was also counted mattered to me.

Reminds me of Seinfeld restaurant scene where they TAKE the order, but don't bother to BRING the order.
