Yes, that sounds right.

I saw it at Curve earlier this year - unfortunately they had to stop and restart the show 3 times in the first 15 minutes due to technical issues - for a show which needs to transport you to another world this was fatal :(

I've just been writing about Edmund's "pretending" - he does it a lot, starting on virtually the first page, when he pretends not to be laughing at Professor Kirke's appearance. It all goes downhill from there...

I'm on a panel talking about The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Leicester Cathedral next week, to mark the 75th anniversary of publication. Anyone doing anything to mark this? Anyone got any comments on the impact the book had on them? (Tickets from Leicester Cathedral if you're interested)

True, but for Syril she might as well have a sleigh, just for the way she handled his mother.

Edmund'd be Syril Karn in another world (and Dedra is pretty White Witch-y).

I don't know, I only hope it's a long, long way away.

Pain! I sense pain!

Remarkably, this is something the CofE gets right!

Apart from Aethelred, he wasn't ready.

I seem to spend half my time on bluesky reading and liking posts denouncing the harmful, wasteful, art-destroying spread of AI. It strikes me that when it takes over it it'll come for us first. Also wondering if AI is making any anti-AI posts for the clicks yet.....

It's a lovely warm evening here in the English Midlands. A nice cool glass of wine in the garden beckoned, but lost out to a nice cool glass of wine watching Andor for the third time.

What if you need a droid to go north of Birmingham?

Andor? And-more! (I'll settle for rewatching Rogue One) Soooo good.

May the 4th ("Star Wars day") is just a made up greeting card holiday. The medieval church celebrated it on an entirely different date. I can't tell you when, but it was a long, long time ago.

ICE came off pretty badly in S2 of Picard too (but Andor is better!)

Pope Francis and ABC Justin Welby both took up office in March 2013. Both have now left those offices, and I can't help but reflect on the very different circumstances in which they left, and ways in which they conducted their ministries.

I was thinking this, but no one was saying "that's just a slightly larger turkey with white feathers" (not to the raptors' faces, anyway.)

True, but he's not going to make coherence the foundation of his argument. :)

Not least because it's grist for the mill of Vance etc

It certainly makes the Fairhaven holo in Voyager look enlightened. (I hate that too though.)

I'm giving up Amazon this Lent - so far they're helping me by recommending car products to me (I don't have one).

And due to deficiencies of training/indifference, errors on screen are replicated by fellow clergy unaccustomed to robing.

I like to think there's a special branch of heaven where all the (better) unpreached sermons go.
