There's two choices when federal travel expenses hit the headlines. Use the old Minchin Protocol to repay the amount. Or refer it to the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority & they'll go through every item.

Endless media reports on the travel expenses of federal MPs & senators date back decades & will likely continue into the future. Generally, politicians are allowed to repay travel expenses. In the Howard era this was called the Minchin Protocol. #auspol www.theguardian.com/world/2013/j...

It's about 3:45pm in Tasmania. No further updates.

There is a suspended arrest warrant for Bruce Lehrmann from November 6. The magistrate only has to hand this to police for it to be executed.

The court requires a response. #auspol
