Q: Are we going too deep in topics? The "Metadata" tutorial (a very early & unfinished draft) goes into depth on XML namespaces. Too much? Not enough? Let us know. Thanks! https://qmacro.

Robert's BYTE mag cover artwork left an indelible mark on my life; my early years of curiosity about computing were against the backdrop of front-cover magical ideas and constructs. RIP.

Attached: 1 image Robert Tinney has died. He's the artist that drew covers for Byte -- the magazine that documented the microcomputer revolution. I inherited several signed and numbered Tinney prints from a dear friend. They were sitting in a closet. I never hung them when we moved into this house. I dragged them out tonight. I should hang them this weekend. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/02/byte-magazine-artist-robert-tinney-who-illustrated-the-birth-of-pcs-dies-at-78/ #retroComputing

I know the actual order of the authors likely reflects the contribution weighting, but I think they missed a trick when listing them :-) #Awk #Unix

Read the original (1979) Awk paper last night, and I was struck by how much the language and this paper reflect each other - concise, simple, beautiful. https://www.awk.dev/awk.spe.pdf #Awk #Unix
