Current political norms dismiss such ideas of #mutualwellbeing as utopian. I would argue that actually they are both where humanity urgently needs to - and can – go. How? By drawing on modern thinking techniques for example such as the 5 techniques here. www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-t...

When some political leaders are promoting the inhuman concept that "Might makes Right", the UK government should be helping people to stand up to that and express their concerns without violence not crush them.

Shouldn't we be very concerned about how easily and quickly people feel compelled to fix their personal identity to one of the sides in a conflict, whether it is political, commercial, legal or cultural, rather than retain a more independent and open minded identity?

What History were you taught?

The History I was taught was 'Bad History', in the sense that it was nearly all about conflict & power,

PLUS

it has helped to maintain the continuing acceptance of a power-games culture in #politics.

Do you consider Deep Questioning and Complex Understanding to be part of your skill set?

Why not?

Have you been told you are not clever enough? That is a lie, you just need to dare to start asking deeper questions...

among the most crucial skills for the present moment and the future of humanity:
* metacognition
* pattern recognition
* selfinquiry
skills that need to raise human consciousness to a higher level of complexity which means: a big part of humans won´t make it.

The Limits of Narratives & Histories

Narratives & Histories can bring out one or more perspectives (which may be sound or not) of lives or events, but I have never discovered a narrative or history that expresses fully the complex reality of lives or events.

We may each be an individual but do any of us have a single personality?

Is a helpful model to understand a person as having a family of personalities, perhaps few or many, some close or disparate, probably with a mix of Guardian, Mature, and Immature characters?

We are often exhorted to "Win" in order to motivate ourselves, but an alternative motivation is "Succeed".

Does this matter?

Well yes if you wish to encourage progress in acts of #mutualwellbeing, since winning often implies others lose, while success can be for everyone.

What is your RINE?

When concerned with #Wellbeing, rather than just measuring Nominal income shouldn't we be focussing on the 'Ratio of Income to Necessary Expenditure [RINE]'?

[Perhaps with an adjustment to allow for borrowing in some years that can be affordably repaid later.]

One of the biggest threats to humanity is from shallow (us against them) & narrow (fixed ideology) thinking and their impacts on people's self-identity, so why do we still let such thinking infect our #economics, #politics, #education & #culture?

If Science is the sound & valid evidence-based Testing, Measuring, Checking, Comparing & Challenging (TMC3) of an understanding of elements, processes, systems & frameworks, then its strength is in continuing open & rigorous TMC3. Yet which societies really take that approach in social sciences? So👇
...that you cannot separate science from society. That the decisions we make in the cultural milieu in which we exist, in 100 years time, someone will look back on and think: My goodness, why did they do that?

Thinking about frameworks with which to evaluate political policies, might one crude rule of thumb be to consider them using a ‘2 EPICs’ model:

EPIC 1:

E – Expected Effects?
P – People Involved & Affected
I – Indirect Impacts?
C- Costs
