So sometimes I listen to debates in the background.

And today I heard someone try to say that diversity weakens a military, and that gay people only detract from the military, and the guy implied that if the Roman Empire had more gay leaders it wouldn’t have reached it’s peak.

I feel like both of those things kinda undercut the premise of a separation between church and state.

But I don’t think we’ve really got a better way to economically organise society.

Though I also accept the premise that we’ve never seen true communism actually implemented either. But I don’t think it’s that possible to do that.

- compromises over some issues then our politics will only get more radical and our society will only become more polarised.

We need to remember to talk.

On both sides of politics.

I think in extremist cases then you do have to draw a line. But I think the tendency of everybody to demonise anyone who remotely leans one way or another is ultimately corrosive.

Trump is ACTIVELY awful and he’s got no other positives from his life.

He was awful in every way, but Trump just about beats him.

— Genuinely, Donald Trump is the worst American President in all of history.

The only other three presidents who come close are Wilson, Buchanan and Herbert Hoover.

But at least you could argue Buchanan largely failed because of his inaction and Herbert still had a legacy of humanitarianism -
