When I was 17, I enlisted in the TX NGuard. Basic was after my JR year of HS; AIT would be the next summer when I graduated. I has an experienced that traumatized me to this day and I was told by a female officer to accept it. This was in 1988. This was my first introduction into true complacency.

I understand what you're saying. Various people that matter to me live in Texas. My brother has stopped socializing because he's afraid of being attacked. He's gay, living in Houston. My nephew's biracial and was recently accosted by ICE twice in the same day for having brown skin. Scary times.

I assumed they would go this route and send the units that are mostly POC and women. I was at Camp Mabry in the late 80's and back then my unit was mostly black, hispanic and women. I was one of 3 white females. Expect them to be incredibly lazy ON PURPOSE.
