Tonight at The Bearded Tit we welcome back the legendary Gadigal queen Nana Miss Koori and Mangarayi Queen Tyra Bankstown to be serving looks and giving shows in celebration of NAIDOC. (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) week, a celebration of culture and history

The night is a celebration for NAIDOC week. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. It originated as the name of the committee responsible for organizing events during the original National Aborigines Day, and has since evolved to represent the week-long celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history.
NAIDOC Week is held annually in the first week of July and is a time to recognize and celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The event has a long history, dating back to the 1920s and the fight for better living conditions and rights for Indigenous Australians. The committee was initially known as NADOC (National Aborigines Day Observance Committee) and later expanded to include Torres Strait Islanders, becoming NAIDOC
