When I worked at the hotel, couples would approach looking for a third. The wives were baddies with men that looked like trolls. One guy got mad cause my coworker was flirting with his wife and not him. She whispered & asked “honey, are you being trafficked or do most of ur decisions look like that”

I think at every job I come in with this naive hopefulness that I have the opportunity to achieve as much as I’m willing to put effort into and then there’s a moment of reality where I’m like “oop I am a Black woman in a predom white corporate space. Nope you’re right that was goofy of me”

A huge part of accepting autonomy is being able to release things that are hurting you. You do not have to sit with it, bare thru it, wait until xyz, come to terms with, find ways to like it. Release it. Before it releases you.

I don’t want kids but I do like being part of a village. Like sure I’ll take the babies to school sometimes. Sure I’ll pack the lunches. Sure I’ll help with a history project but sneak up at 3am to correct it as if it’s my own grade. Sure, but I’m also sending them babies back to you
