Update: Been playing this a lot, and the more I do the more I love it. Teles force you to improve the way you play. New bridge saddles (Gotoh compensated ones, to keep the strings in place) and a black pickguard are en route. And I'm keeping the stock Yosemite pickups in - they scream.
Went to a guitar shop today with @floppablecat.bsky.social to try out some MIJ Fenders and walked out with this. We were about to leave and hadn’t checked out the second-hand stuff but this was in there and, for what it is, it was a fucking steal. It’s getting a black guard because of course

Update: Been playing this a lot, and the more I do the more I love it. Teles force you to improve the way you play. New bridge saddles (Gotoh compensated ones, to keep the strings in place) and a black pickguard are en route. And I'm keeping the stock Yosemite pickups in - they scream.
Oh, and Flop bought a really cool Squier Telecaster bass that plays well above its price point and thumps for days through its big fat mudbucker pickup. Also, what is it with the Classic Vibes having better factory setups than a lot of the Fender stuff nowadays? Century of humiliation indeed

I would legit feel more at home programming and then recording a lined in hardware drum machine, then multi-tracking over that with real instruments. But I guess it wouldn't be dragging myself kicking and screaming into the present without the kicking and screaming

Think I've hit brain plasticity death because learning how to make Pro Tools do what I want is making me want to grind my teeth to dust. I hate using DAWs, I always have. Genuinely envious of anyone creative who can integrate this into your process, because it actively kills any creative urge I have

I swap out drive pedals like they're socks but I just got a Boss MD-2 and I'm gonna be messing around with it for a while. REALLY good definition of individual notes/palm mutes at lower levels when boosting a dirty amp, and when you palm mute as much as me (read: too much) that is very important
