I've passed to PhD candidacy!! The world has been pretty dark and scary, but cool science is still happening and I'm so proud to announce that I've taken another step in being part of it.

When the weather is finally lovely but you've put off mini analysis for too long

Thanks, Bluesky community for all the support 😊 This is a pretty cool piece of the internet

I'm the new VP of WVU's Graduate Women Advocating Science and I'm on a mission! We want to host a speaker who can tell us about activism in STEM for underrepresented voices. Know anyone? My following is on the micro scale so any reposts are deeply appreciated ❤️ #womeninSTEM #diversityinSTEM #SciComm

Well deserved, Serhii! Was such a pleasure to watch you present!

Last night I competed as a finalist in WVU's 3 Minute Thesis competition! I didn't place, but afterwards a mechanical engineer said he's never thought about excitation and inhibition during sleep. Telling people about how cool the brain is and hearing that they listened is a win in my books! #3MT

Nothing like a little Andy Serkis narration of the Silmarillion to get me out of my head and into the groove of patching. What do others listen to at the rig/bench?

How exciting you've narrated it! Will it be on audible? Audiobooks are how I get through long days of patch clamping.

Whoops I got on here and promptly hibernated. My mission is to be more social! Thanks everyone who stuck around!

Your posts about workshop opportunities are helpful, so much about what I know of the Allen Institute I've learned from talks and seminars so any outreach is impactful!

I'm hyped about the follows, thanks everyone! Our lab had a paper accepted last week that I can't wait to share on here, so keep an eye out! I've spent the past year learning whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology and I'm thrilled to share that hard work sometime soon.

Hello everyone 👋 I'm working on my PhD in Neuroscience at WVU in Michelle Bridi's lab and I'm interested in neural circuitry, synaptic plasticity, and synaptic homeostasis. In Dr. Bridi's lab I'm studying why we sleep (at the synaptic level). Excited to be here!
