We’ve just hit 50 council by-election wins since May 1st, winning more than the Conservatives, Labour, and the Green Party!

The momentum is with us. 🔶

Great to meet Sue Bill from the charity PROMISEworks today. ✅

It was useful to talk with Sue about local issues, and how their mentors can support our young people.

I now look forward to working with Sue to grow a network of mentors in West Somerset.

This Government has chosen to reject the single biggest thing it could do to turbocharge economic growth and repair the £90 billion Brexit black hole.

For millions of people struggling with higher bills this was a botched budget.

Yet again, no mention of Somerset or Devon.

The Chancellor has failed to understand the challenges facing those in rural and coastal areas.

I will continue to fight for our constituency and our communities.

Today, many farmers came down to Westminster to plead to the Chancellor for her support.

In return, the Government doubled down on their plans to hit them with a family farm tax.

Liberal Democrats will keep fighting for British farmers.

This was a botched Budget by a Chancellor who’s diagnosed the disease but won’t administer the cure.

Despite promises to cut the cost of living and grow the economy, the Government still refuses to fix our trade relationship with Europe and repair the £90bn Brexit black hole.

No mention of Somerset or Devon in the Chancellor's Budget document.

The rural South West has been overlooked again.

With just a week left to go until the Budget, I have put together my requests for the Chancellor.

I hope that next week the Government will address some of the issues to help move our region, and country, forward.

Tiverton and Minehead cannot be ignored again.

🚨BREAKING🚨New figures reveal the true cost of Brexit.

It's time for Labour to stop being so timid and fix the damage done by the Conservatives' botched Brexit deal.

That is the best way to boost growth, put money in people's pockets and properly fund our public services.

RIP Jimmy Cliff.

"You can get it if you really want" was my General Election anthem in 1997. Slightly tongue in cheek in solidly Labour Nottingham.

Nearly 30 years later, and on home territory, I realised my dream - "You've got to try, try, try. You succeed at last."

Legend.

Not bad for a morning's work! ✅

On Sunday morning, I joined fantastic local volunteers for a litter-picking session on Minehead Beach.

A big thank you to everyone who dedicates their time to keep our area clean, tidy, and safe!

Introducing my old friend Professor Dr Sube Banerjee, a world expert on dementia and dementia care, to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

Looking forward to seeing Sube in the constituency soon to talk to local charities supporting dementia sufferers.

Earlier this week, I called for a joined-up, neuro-optimal pathway to care for those with neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, MS, ME, and CFS.

The Govt must do more to support those with neurological conditions by implementing a coherent national strategy.

Yesterday, I joined The Filo Project to deliver Dr Michael and Dr Avril Staunton's open letter to the Chancellor, calling for an end to the VAT on community interest companies (CICs) providing dementia care.

Liberal Democrats are fighting to save the high street AND cut your cost of living.

Our plan would cut your energy bills, slash VAT for hospitality, and put £270 back in your pocket.

Currently, only £3 billion is allocated to NHS dentistry in England, providing care for just half the population.

The Govt must increase the budget for NHS dentistry and end the shameful reality of #DIYDentistry.
