Hey bluesky peeps! I've been away for a while, so I thought I should share something with you pals.

I haven't been able to draw much on my iPad because of work, but I always carry this small sketchbook with an ink marker everywhere I go. I try to sketch anything I find interesting when I get small breaks.

More of my portrait practice! Felt a bit disconnected, but a little friend encouraged me a lot to keep going. Gotta be a good example for any artist struggling too out there!

I can’t get used to using a method like loomis, or others used for faces, the result, I struggle with keeping the proportions between key elements like eyes, nose and mouth, still I enjoy learning this way Better proportions, still need to work on synthesizing detail in smaller scales. Loved the nose shape! Now that I look at it a while after finishing, the eyes are more separated than they should’ve. I liked how I drew the hat and the contrast with the hair I need to find a better technique for the light shading, time to experiment with the brush setting. I liked a lot the hair shapes here

I know confidence is waiting for me, just a couple hundred mistakes away from now. Even when it feels and seems impossible in my head, I’d like to choose to keep going.

I took forever to draw the eyes and nose, then decided to discard that one and did this one without fixating on the details, I liked and enjoyed doing this one much better Portrait, woman turning her head back, 3/4 backside, long hair with bangs, closed eyes. Didn’t realize I was working with too much zoom, so ended up with a miniature, the proportions might still be off, but I’m happy with it Portrait, woman with head with a slight head turn, short hair styled back, high angle, wearing glasses. I love so much doing portraits from different angles, I’m having problems with drawing lips in general, but I can feel the skill coming back Portrait, woman looking into the distance, profile, short hair with bangs. The proportions need more work, but the contrast, I love how I’m working with it. Ps. I enjoyed a lot the little hair highlights

On a not Pokemon related note, I used to love drawing portraits a few years ago, but stopped at some point.
This is me trying to get into it again, it has not been easy, but I like to think one day I’ll get back my old skills and get to improve even more.
Oh, the first one always gives me the ick, alas I try to push through and keep going The second try gave tons of hope, it looks majestic next to the first one, still, there’s a long way to go I’m having fun experimenting with ways to draw hair This was another warmup, I still find it hard to translate traditional skills to digital, at least in portraits, I have waaaay more control with a mechanical pen and paper, I’ll need more practice

I just faced a situation that would have me spiraling in anxiety some time ago, but I handled it like a pro, I mean I still got a little bit anxious, but felt like nothing in comparison. I'm so proud of myself and how much I'm constantly growing 🥺🥲 I can't believe healing actually works 😭
