This whole behind the scenes cabal accidentally inviting a reporter in on sensitive stuff is exactly why I usually go by “Jessica.” When you go by “Jess” people think you’re a “Jeff” and suddenly someone adds you to a Signal chat with Hegseth and Miller because they think you’re Jeffrey Goldberg.

Lino collage on wood panel and finished with resin. Shiny. Slightly ominous. Linos were printed on a combo of papers, resulting in deep textures. 8” by 8”. $100.

Hang with a nail, put a wire in it, or display on a desk as you stare into the void. Greet the day. Then Buy at jessicaevettartist.com

Have we considered the fact that the Igloo coolers are going killer whale on us? Totally wouldn’t blame them.

That also means that white cishet women need to know when to get out of the way. Frankly, we often have a poor track record.

Indigenous, Black, and queer communities in particular have never had equal treatment under the law. Women are also targeted by Project 2025. We’re going to need to work together over time here to build a progressive coalition that values leaders from those communities.

We’re not giving up here at all. But if the rule of law goes away here with Trump/Musk (still a window here), then they will absolutely use the same tactics against and within blue states. America is a terrifying place for trans/non-binary people right now in particular.

Also, I know this is all moving fast and it’s scary, but marginalized communities within the United States have organized for liberation and thrived for a long time without help from the feds, state, the majority of their fellow citizens, the courts, police, etc.

Blue girl in Idaho here. If the DOGE coup is successful the blue state red state binary isn’t going to work. They just announced they’re going to DOGE at the county level here. If the country becomes an autocracy why will they stop at the federal level?

Guess they’re coming after the art now too, so I sloppily made this drawing under a letterpress poster I made last week. This exercise was both therapeutic and nauseating. #sendintheassclowns. Show me your worst/best nonsense, artists.

In January, I set out to make art full-time. That coincided with everyone reconsidering their relationship with Meta, and I’m easing out of there while recognizing the communities built there. Here’s a photo of some recent work as we figure out what art looks like here.

Wasn’t sure what to post first, but if I do end up eventually leaving Meta I just have to share this photo of Caldwell, Idaho’s libertarian Farm City reader board in 1996 after some mysterious College of Idaho students changed it in the dead of night.
