Delighted to be heading to Lancaster in June for #CADS2026, where I’ll be presenting my work on Tech CEO discourse on YouTube over a decade.

Really looking forward to being back and to meeting friends and colleagues.

This is my first book, and I’m feeling genuinely happy and grateful.

I owe a great deal to many, especially @paulari.bsky.social, @tonymcenery.bsky.social and @journolinguist.bsky.social whose guidance and encouragement shaped this work in important ways.

What happens when you use AI to tag 8546 images in a 1.5m word corpus of UK news about Islam? How accurate is the tagger? What's the relationship between images and words? Happy to have this in print! Congrats to T. Parnell, T. Van Hout & D. Del Fante for bringing this volume together. My chapter explores how media use discursive strategies to construct risks to life. First Bluesky post—hope I’m doing this right!
