The BBC breaks down #COP30.

All in all, COP was what it always is: arguing over semantics and wording, with no real systemic change. 🙄 The real power was with Indigenous peoples of the #Amazon, who descended on the COP to make their demands and solutions heard.

We can’t trade our way out of deforestation! Many leaders at #COP30 continue to approach forests as commodities to be traded – a “save this forest here, to continue to destroy the environment over there” mentality. Real climate action means phasing out fossil fuels.

#COP30 activists' message? The Amazon cannot survive under the same financial system that is destroying it.

While there has been progress in getting funds for climate reparations & resilience, there is little regulation for the TRILLIONS being poured into fossil fuels.💰💰
