And I love how you have to be at the intersection of "terminally online" and "Star Trek fan" to get this joke

Oh well! If you strenuously object then I should take some time to reconsider!

This. This right here. This is why I LOVED the finale. You could FEEL how much James loves these characters and their actors.

It poured out of the screen ... It was a fantastic episode.

Again, I defer to Wikipedia.

I can think you can argue there's different *kinds* journalists

This includes reporters, editors, columnists, critics, commentators, photojournalists, investigative teams, and even some modern bloggers or podcasters.

They're not the same. But they're all journalists.

I see a lot of people complaining about this... but this happens. Look at game of thrones. The next to last episode was usually where the big battle was... in the final episode it just kind of wrapped it all up.

That's what this was... with a little teaser at the end.

I'm seeing a lot of people online being very negative about it. I absolutely loved it. Maybe I had no expectations... but I thought it was brilliant. I loved seeing the characters developed, I loved seeing them come together. It was extremely enjoyable for me to watch.

Except of course for the fact that you can leave whenever you want.

Exactly like Stalinism, which was famously fine with people leaving whenever they felt like it.

Frakes should get a bonus point for also playing Thomas on DS9, right?

You're certainly in good company. The Dispossessed is my favorite SF book ever.

I slept most of my life on Le Guin... Her work is simply top tier SF.

I love DS9 with all my heart, but the O'Brien / Kira romantic subplot was WEIRD.
