I was so close to being done with Vgen’s art challenge for June, but sadly I got very sick and wasn’t able to finish it and turn it in. I’m super bummed out about it, but determined to do better this month.

Here’s June’s - which will be finished once I finish the piece for July!

TW: Firearms

The moment had come. She knew what she had to do as the Captain, but even now all she could think of was—

BOOM! An explosion near blew the altar off its pedestal, debris from the wall flying in all directions. Tinnitus deafened her as her supposed ‘groom’ screamed in terror. In through the new entryway to the church, silhouetted by the distantly setting sun, was her First Mate. Behind him she saw her crew gathered and ready for a brawl. She grinned, lifted her dress and moved to run to him, but her “groom’s” guards grabbed at her and held her back. She fought, knocking one out with her shining prosthetic, and the other was swiftly tossed aside by the golden and brown Yautja.

“You’re late!” She yelled over the din of people screaming to flee.

“‘You’re late!’” He returned, her own voice pitched up to mock her. Then he lifted her from the floor, her crew flooding in and taking out any more guards that might see fit to argue with their Captain’s retrieval. Her captors released a volley of bullets, but she was ready, grabbing her First Mate’s secondary firearm and returning fire as he easily and hurriedly carried her out.

“Next time I’ve gotta plan for holsters in my dress!” She shouted over the din.

“Next time don’t get pulled into *this* crap!” Their frontline man, Kro called as he covered the Yautja and Captain’s escape. “And get married in your Blues so you don’t have to worry about it!”
