Reintroducing myself here with a few of my loves: first, bread baking, especially this Georgian bread that’s filled with about 2lbs of cheese that is then topped and mixed with egg yolks and butter right out of the oven.

Having friends at SF Ballet in the 90s, I saw many a spectacular Nutcracker but then I fell hard for Morris’ Hard Nut and since then it’s not caught my eye.The @pbs.org #GreatPerformances broadcast of the English National Ballet’s is STELLAR. From concept to design -it’s a new fave.

Having friends at SF Ballet in the 90s, I saw many a spectacular Nutcracker but then I fell hard for Morris’ Hard Nut and since then it’s not caught my eye.The @pbs.org #GreatPerformances broadcast of the English National Ballet’s is STELLAR. From concept to design -it’s a new fave.
Now would be a perfect time to introduce yourself to the best Christmas episode of the 80s (of all time?) the #Moonlighting episode “T’was the Episode Before Christmas.” A groundbreaking, breaking-the-4th-wall episode that is as sweet as it is festive. A definite favorite.

Also, this film is a freakin’ marvel in 1000 ways. Its blending of mediums is seamless - we take so much for granted today. Imagine being 9 and seeing this on a screen in 1964. I would have believed it it all actually happened.

Happy 27th first listening day Beck’s Midnight Vultures - an album that hasn’t left
My rotation since I bough the CD and listened to it twice as I sat in traffic trying to get home from SF on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. One of the great party album, it sounds as fresh today as it did then.

Y’all! Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with Kate Beckinsale is one of THE most bat-shit crazy interviews of the modern era. It was either a master class of improv or psychosis as storytelling. Will be remembered for years.

Maybe I didn’t read the fine print, but I had NO idea that Danny Elfman himself was a guest singer at the fantastic SF Symphony concert celebrating his collabs with Tim Burton. He sang all the Jack Skellington songs during the Nightmare/Christmas set and sounded GREAT! What a treat!
