Loopholes, mismanagement, and government policy that force tenure holders to cut old growth.

The giant trees in these photos are not in coastal BC rainforests. They are 400km inland from the sea! They are precious and rare, yet they are still logged. It's insane.
Why old forests are still being logged in one of BC’s most endangered ecosystems
Three months ago I walked through a magical cathedral forest where thousand-year-old cedar trees wrapped with green ‘car straps’, towered above six-foot-high devil’s club. I was among the last people ...

Regime admits its wishful thinking won't work, and its now only meeting its carbon budget by an accounting scam www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Cancelled Kapuni carbon storage scheme scrapped from national emissions plan
Despite a raft of climate policy cuts, the country is still on track to narrowly meet its greenhouse gas budget - but not a 2030 methane target set in law.

Thanks to this postage stamp of land in Idaho, and a 2023 SCOTUS 5-4 ruling, about 60 MILLION acres of wetland *AND ALL GROUNDWATER* in the US is at risk of losing the protection of the Clean Water Act.

With oil prices hovering around $60/bbl, there isn't much interest in ANWR drilling, for now.
Trump officials say Alaska is 'open for business.' So far, no one's buying.
The administration wants to drill in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Oil companies don’t, leaving Alaska to spend millions propping up the idea.

The US has cloned breeder animals since 2009. Pressure is on countries to accept US meat from clones without labeling. They have lost track of the clones and can't tell if a cow/pig/goat was born to a clone or not, so there is no way to label it. We don't even know how many breeder clones there are.
True scale of America's mutant meat scandal sparks alarm in government
The renewed interest in cloned meat has many Americans shocked to learned that the US has allowed it in stores for nearly two decades.

On the difference between empty pledges and current policies, which have worsened due to the Trump effect.

Pledges say world oil and gas demand will peak this year, but current policies mean demand could grow until 2050.
