On Monday the fire and rescue services came out to visit us. We loved exploring the fire engine and hearing all about it but our favourite was when we got to used the hose 💦 🔥 🚒 #Fire #PeopleWhoHelpUs

This morning in the under 3s suite, we went on a bus trip to the local police station. We were so excited to sit inside the police car, but we were even more excited to press the siren. We can’t wait for the community police officer to come visit us. #ExploringTheCommunity

Yesterday in the garden, some of the boys and girls were using their imagination as they role played. They decided to build their very own campfire. We remembered all of the rules of how to stay safe around the campfire! O - “It’s hot like the lava!” K - “Let’s add the logs to keep the fire going”

This week in the under 3’s suite we have been creating our own colour Monster using different coloured paints. To continue our interest in pouring and scooping we have been using different utensils, pots and measuring scoops To mix our own paints.

We are excited to start our sewing and threading journey. We started practicing today using some leaves threading them through the holes. We were developing our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. We are starting to build our confidence when using the needles. 🍂🍁🍃

In the POD our interest has been in construction. We made our own construction site using bricks and dumper trucks! We spoke about being safe and why we should wear helmets. Lots of rich discussion was heard,we also watched big diggers on iPad.

Today was our first visit to the residents at Cunningham House. This week Jane brought Bookbug along to join us for some songs & stories before the children shared their own Story Books! We started to get to know the residents before our next visit. #CommunityPartnerships #IntergenerationalLearning

Today in the Under 3’s the colour monster was all mixed up. We talked about our own feelings looking in the mirror using our facial expressions to talk about the emotion. We sorted and matched each colour.#emotions#Earlymaths

📏 We have explored measure by comparing our size to the size of the planks.

Today some of us in the under 3’s suite went a walk around the community to look for signs of autumn.
