so what i'm hearing is that you won't use gen ai on mtg products bc it came to the attention of wotc :( still curious if your coral places + floral places deck box designs are made w/ gen ai. this apology feels disingenuous if you're just going to continue to use ai designs on your other products 🥲

ugh it’s just so frustrating seeing this brand continue to dismiss concerns, go onto extend an artists art with ai, and make more lame gen ai deck box designs for the sake of a cash grab :/ i’m tired of seeing them push ethical limits. like cmon this shit is whack 🥲

i will continue to keep speaking out about my immense disappointment toward both wotc and ultimate guard - gen ai is NOT welcome in this space. ultimate guard stated that they are “investigating this internally” but what is there to investigate ??? this isn’t the first time they’ve used ai designs 💭

w/ the current discourse surrounding @ultimateguard.bsky.social using gen ai - i would really like to point out that they’ve been pushing out generated ai deck box designs for a HOT MINUTE. they just finally got caught doing it, and to an mtg artist’s work no less, which is beyond disingenuous 🫠

i’ve been asking ultimate guard if their floral places deck box designs are ai generated or ATLEAST who the artist is with no response

Picked this deck box up from @ultimateguard.bsky.social and I was so excited until I flipped it over. Looks like my art was extended with ai.

@magic.wizards.com needs to make sure their partners don’t do this.

I would have happily extended this for a couple hundred $$. Instead it looks awful!
