At the San Miguel set of Fistful Of Dollars (1964) in Hoyo De Manzanares, originally titled Ray El Magnifico and also Il Magnifico Straniero (The Magnificent Stranger) #spaghettiwestern #sergioleone #clinteastwood #hoyodemanzanares
I could imagine Frank Drebin saying this if Ed had been shot.
Sorcerer - The Criterion Collection in 4K is coming out in October. Lots of interesting extras including several interviews with Friedkin. Got my pre-order in.
Only you can see me Roger and Michael ... only you.
Would like to see Steve Martin and William Berger play duelling banjos.
Maybe we should claim Kubrick as British :)
or My Name is Nobody? I find Genius a very confusing movie, but Henry Fonda definitely wasn't in it!
I picked up one of those viewfinders from eBay. If it belonged to Sergio it might be worth a thousand times more than I paid for it.
Almeria, sun and cigars, the perfect combination.
I think we heard of Bob Robertson but never seen this one!
Columbo wiped the smile off his face.
In the pic with the greenscreen you can just about make out the house at the Tabernas exit of the N-340
First pic is not from the movie, its the catering team. 😂

What a fantastic movie. The abandoned Saltair pavilion was the perfect setting.
Another view from Tabernas castle over the badlands. #Almería #tierradelcine
I can imagine, it looks amazing. I remember the pepper pots from when I lived near Dudley, interesting to see what lies beneath.
Wow, looks very spooky! Presumably the hole in the ceiling goes up to one of the 'pepper pots' for ventilation?
This is how the Sweetwater ranch from Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) looks now in 2024.
Its in both English and Spanish.
I have a website www.fistfuloflocations.com which has Google map links to the locations for the Leone movies.

The Almeria Cine guys produced this guide, also worth checking out their Bluesky posts.

Definitely worth a visit. Plus the nearby 'Mini Hollywood' theme park which was built for the El Paso set for For a Few Dollars More and used in The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Also nearby is 'Texas Hollywood' which has appeared in many westerns too. Sad Hill up near Burgos is incredible too.
