By just some moonlight a moment under the starry night sky can transform into something magical...

April 8th, Arkansas USA.
I witnessed one of the most unique phenomena in Creation.
..A Total Solar Eclipse.

Gazing upwards together with a group of fellow Dutch countrymen and other eclipse chasers, it was an experienceI will treasure for a long time.
..and hopefully be able to witness again..

Looking back at last year’s Milky Way season makes me hope this season will be even more stunning!

This Milky Way selfie was taken at the Dutch Island called ‘Terschelling.

(It’s a single shot, not tracked or stacked, just a new way of editing to get out the details😁)

Last Sunda’s BIG solar prominence eruption.
(250.000 kms in size on frame.🤯)

Taken through my first H-Alpha Solar Scope, a (single stacked) Lunt 40mm.

☁️ covered up most of the event, but still got to take a couple of shots of it.

Is single Frame of 8K video
(Top is FullFrame - Bottom is Crop)

The Milky Way, though sadly not visible in most of the country, it can be seen very clearly with the naked eye in some places in the Netherlands.
Terschelling is such a place, with its very Dark skies.

During the Fall and Winter months the starry night sky is truly spectacular.

My first Bluesky post is ‘Blue’

One of my most favorite memories of May 2018, during an intense ‘19 days straight period of ‘Bioluminescent’ algae glowing all around the island of Terschelling.

This particular night it glowed at the North-Sea side over the whole horizon, all night long.
