Pub of the Year 2024 has to be another National Inventory entry, the Low House (Kings Head) in Laxfield. Superb pedal in Suffolk in the summer heat, lovely old pub with historic features, fantastic ales straight from the cask and friendly staff. Superb all round.

Shite, I have to cycle to Cambridge now! #FACupbybike Seals 2 Shrimps 0 🤪

and so my odyssey ends but #FACupbybike continues with the replay. This Wobbly Cyclist finishes at the Wobbly Cobbler. What a great adventure

Another ground cycled to. Morecambe FC
realalecyclist.bsky.social
AnotherGBG tick a little further along at Tide and Taps. More great beers
realalecyclist.bsky.social
Little Bare GBG tick next close to the prom. Went for the 2 local brews, will I regret 6.8%?
realalecyclist.bsky.social
Oh, yes, time for celebratory beers in the Taps Morecambe. Cheers!
realalecyclist.bsky.social
nice stretches then through Lancaster Uni grounds and into the town. I've cycled this last path to Morecambe before, nearly there!
realalecyclist.bsky.social
Wyre Valley the nicest stretch of the whole ride so far. Scorton is particularly lovely. Bonus tractor pic for @beerbiker.bsky.social too. Crossing the M6 a bit of a shock to the peace

must be a show today. Lots of old Morris cars on the road and just had a flyover from a Spitfire! Superb
realalecyclist.bsky.social
Nearly half way so a stop to admire the River Wyre and the nice town of Garstang
realalecyclist.bsky.social
nice offroad paths to get me out of Preston. Good view of Deepdale. Could have done without the 10% climb at the start with a full stomach though

Breakfast with the disgustingsons at the hotel. At least the food was nice. Nearly ready for a creaky start to Day 2. Come on the Seals! #FACupbybike

another guide tick next at the Guild Ale House. Cracking place, a little gem that's got a lovely friendly vibe
realalecyclist.bsky.social
next up a GBG tick at the Orchard. Cracking Beer Grommit! barrel just being changed so more available now
realalecyclist.bsky.social
Love the floor and bar tiling plus the little side rooms. Great pub
realalecyclist.bsky.social
A busy Friday night not the best time for a National Inventory visit but the Black Horse in Preston is a belter. Long time since I've been here.
realalecyclist.bsky.social
final stretch to Preston along the old tram line and bridge. Comfy room for the bike! Great day 54 miles
realalecyclist.bsky.social
some nice off-road sections to Bamber Bridge. Popped out right next to BBFC on exactly 50 miles. Pity I can't claim that as a footy ground cycle tick.
realalecyclist.bsky.social
what looked a nice off road section at Red Rock turned into a muddy obstacle course. Canal dripping down made it so boggy that Grey Wags were feeding along it!

Route close to a National Inventory pub so made the decision to wait until opening time. Springfield Hotel in Wigan is 3* listed. Lovely lobby bar and entrance tiling. Shame no Bass or any cask. #FACupbybike

Top Cumberland Sausage barm at a roadside gaff. Very welcome at nearly 30 miles. Into Wigan next for a pie to eat later 🥧 #FACupbybike
