another fun part of doing this is that at the end you can stitch this into a pdf and stick it into an actual pdf reader for optimal flipping through pages action. or even print it so it can live with your physical ones

obviously you dont really Actually need the fancy management file thing, it can just be intentionally assembled canvases in a folder if your program doesnt do this/doesnt do this in a way thats conducive, it just really fits the experience of flipping through pages in my brain

as a matter of fact i made one for one of my partners! they struggle with the blank page effect a lot and would really like to branch out from 'character in white void' so this might be nice maybe!

+ some sample palettes and random fun creature references outside the page area to get brain going

similar setup from before! this time instead of various paper colors its pale holographic and really dark pages alternating

this one has colors palettes and pictures of fun invertebrates/fish/mushrooms for extra visual reference as their setting takes a lot of inspiration from things in our world that fully exist but look alien and strange to a human eye and living organisms with iridescent and bioluminescent qualities

its also nice bc youre not limited to 'practical' sketchbook paper materials. not just in the sense of not having to pay.. hard to justify amounts of money for anything with fun paper, but you can also have materials that arent even really drawable on normally

+ it scratches the itch for art supplies you dont have on hand right now/are fundamentally impractical in a doodling capacity well enough i think even if its not the real thing

it's also really nice if you want to keep yourself in a certain mindspace for visdev for a certain project maybe!

i ultimately dont think this is a full replacement for actually making stuff on paper no[not to be old but physical supplies are Really important for learning stuff i stand by that firmly] but rather this specifically really makes the experience of doodling digitally nicer

this is really nice because at the present i actually dont have a lot in the way of good opaque mediums for my traditional that dont take fifty years to dry or warp the paper, so this lets me play with that more + use overtly digital stuff while still firmly in that sketchbook mindspace i like
