Wanted to be a 2D animator, school had us in the pixar pipeline but I hated 3d, did some comics freelance and was ass at it, lucked into Gaia Online job working on flash games, started doing comics again, moved to a company doing BG art for mobile game you’ve never heard of, laid off, comics again

Just got back from a bucket list trip I've been planning for years and one of my goals was to see this painting at the RA in London and when I got there on October 22nd I found out they closed it early 12 days before I got there, it will be closed until 2027, thanks RA, good jorb 👍

I found this Darth Maul zine in a comics shop and almost bought it instantly but it has this infamous fanart in it and a bunch of other fanart and I want to know if they got permission to print it all (without credit unless I missed the attribution section)

The artist for the Vegeta/Bulma kiss pic I mentioned yesterday!!! I looked forever so I could credit but I couldn't find her, I'm so happy someone knew her!!
Learning to draw kissing 25 years ago from that one artwork of Vegeta and Bulma getting married and you remember it every time you draw kissing for the rest of your life and also you still can't draw kissing as good as that 😔

Off topic but why has venmo become the main payment method for a lot of artists just starting out tabling? The process to pay with it is really clunky, do other customers like it? Or just less fees than something like square?

I read a comment yesterday that said that smut where the characters were smiling and heart-emoting felt insincere to them and I feel like that absolutely nails the heart of this issue for me. I like drawing silly art but I also like drawing sincere art and rules like this don’t have room for that.

20 years ago, there were so few places to put adult art online; it was pretty much email lists or your own site. Y!gal was the first place I could post nsfw art, and was still limited. I remember when I first found tumblr and learned people could post all kinds of nsfw there. We had come so far!
