My CI processor is a little smaller because I use the child-sized battery on my tiny ears. I get a bit less on the life before recharging but it's so very comfortable that I don't mind having to swap midday (or sometimes take it off for the day when the battery dies).

I donated my old hearing aids (so many!) but still have 20 yrs of CI proc. I liked each version for different reasons, like switching shoes. The original one was the best for phone speech comprehension until my current one with Bluetooth. I keep the waterproof one for swimming & off-ear use.

I've been implanted for 20 years (after having been born deaf and one ear basically dead for 30 years) and process music splendidly. You might enjoy my 2024 memoir "Radio Head Gal," which is as much about the CI process as it is social commentary on hearing loss, ableism, and DEIA. Best wishes!
