Ok so I've got a lot of new academic followers and I need to warn you that my feed is about 15% academic stuff and 85% dogs, cats and bread making. I also like to see what people are knitting/crocheting. So basically I like knowing other academics but mostly for the non-academic stuff you post!

This morning I have 'He Who Would Valiant Be' stuck in my head, which as hymns go is not even one of the good ones #BeckyFM
Ah back to the annoying 80s throwbacks on #BeckyFM. This morning I woke up with Venus by Bananarama running round my head on repeat. Peppy, but it's going to get tiresome fairly quickly!

I don't know what disabled people need to do to get this government to care about us. I am so fed up of politicians - Reeves in particular - whipping up division, making it sound like disabled people (and our cars, which we pay through the nose for!) are the reason this country is struggling.

Started cutting up the last of the pumpkins; 1.5kg puréed and frozen and filled the dehydrator with slices to hopefully use as dog treats. I've also finished writing the Christmas cards. We took down most of the Halloween decs yesterday and my wife is threatening to go in the loft on Wednesday 🎄

Now we've had a frost the hosepipe gun has inevitably cracked and now water comes out from multiple unexpected directions
Which is why my plan to quickly clean the bird feeder ended with me standing in the garden screaming WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE as the water soaked into my socks 😂

How is it possible that every hospital I am under uses a different electronic platform to send letters, test results etc? Surely the NHS should just decide on a platform and everybody runs with it? No?

Has anybody bought a tumble dryer recently and thought "wow I really like this tumble dryer that did not cost me more than, say, £400"?
Because if so I need your tumble dryer recommendations as ours has decided 15 years is enough years.

Agatha is being spayed in Dec so we've just bought some surgery suits so we can get her used to them. Day 1 was interesting... She ran around like a demon released from hell for about ten minutes and then after we took it off was v.subdued. Feel bad but don't think she'd like the cone alternative!

I know you're not meant to judge, but I saw her running laps round the lounge earlier so I don't think she really needs that wheelchair 😅

Ok so made it to the opticians which is a good thing as a) my prescription is wrong so they're remaking my glasses but also b) they think I may have inflammation in one of my nerves so I'm being referred to the hospital. (Have no idea what that could be about, trying not to panic!)
Spent most of today feeling rubbish from a mast cell reaction and tomorrow I have to drag myself to the opticians for a re-test as my new glasses are very much not right. And I'm tired and it's cold and I just don't want to leave the house 😂

WTAF, I've just had an email from Facebook saying my account has been suspended for violating "Community Standards on cybersecurity". I've appealed but I literally have no idea what I'm meant to have done!? I'll be pissed off if I lose access as there's a lot of friends & memories on there.

I feel like I might be too tired for Christmas? Everyone seems to have their tree up and I'm still surrounded by Halloween decor and up to my eyes in Christmas lists and just generally am wondering how one turns this all around in time 🙈😂
