I want to say ‘Rain in Royston’, but I’m in Hitchin grabbing breakfast before a workshop for the Hitchin branch of the @samaritans.bsky.social
Luckily I’ve been promised a rail replacement bus via Royston 🚌 later 👿

It’s #socialenterpriseday for all those that celebrate! Today I’ll be sharing glimpses of the wonderful social enterprises locally. Many struggle in these tough times and to be honest many are too reliant on funding. It’s time think seriously about trading sustainably. Social investment can help!

Four one hour workshops with people I don’t know in four locations across Norfolk and Suffolk in one day 🤯 This means pre-gluing Pinpoint boards and doing as much prep as possible as there won’t be time to set up. What could possibly go wrong….

Just another participatory workshop with charity and social enterprise leaders on types on involvement, opportunities to involve teams, how to do it and most importantly of all - the difference it makes to a motivated and creative team 🙌

This was our @camerados-org.bsky.social #PublicLivingRoom in Jenny Lind Park on Saturday. Not agenda, no outcomes and no rules. Like your own living room. Just keep your trousers on! Creating community one biscuit 🍪 at a time.

At 50, as my eyesight worsens, I now understand why I spent a lot of my childhood looking for contact lenses (they weren’t disposables then) for my dad on the bathroom floor 🤦‍♀️ I thought I had extra special eyesight powers. Nope. I was just young!

A small hot chocolate in a cold cafe cost me £4.75 yesterday. 🤯 In the winter I spend more time in cafes because my flat is cold. Don’t tell me how much heating £4.75 gives me because in uninsulated buildings with no actual central heating (isolated electric radiators) it’s not true 😒 #costofliving

This #TrusteesWeek isn't it time to consider what support trustees might need when deciding if Social Investment is right for their organisation? Lots more support and great questions to ask on the Good Finance website. www.goodfinance.org.uk?utm_source=G... @goodfinanceuk.bsky.social

I really resent these substantial, to most, luxurious, homes supposedly ‘owned’ by the King, being called cottages. Where I grew up (the other end of Norfolk) cottages generally had two bedrooms and no central heating www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Where might Andrew live on the Sandringham estate?
The sprawling Norfolk estate is home to several properties - here is a look at where Andrew might be moving in.

Let's talk real numbers in social investment. 💰 I've noticed a nervousness among charity & social enterprise leaders to ask direct money-related questions about borrowing. I can practically hear the question everyone is holding back: "How much did you borrow?" 🤔

Just let that sink in. I’ve no interest in pitching people against each other, but facts is facts and there’s an obvious place to look to raise some cash 👀

Climate Change is a CRITICAL threat to nature and wildlife.

Nearly 60 countries have similar Climate change laws because they WORK - reducing emissions, bringing down bills, and restoring nature. 🌳
