Recovering X and Twitter addict. Looking for a funnier, more intelligent place.
Lifelong Leeds United supporter.
I block racists.
Elderly white hippie and proud.
What those who describe themselves as strivers fail to acknowledge is the amount of good fortune in their lives.
Whether it's being born into wealth, free education, buying a house decades ago, good health etc.
Not all hard work gets a commensurate reward.

Think Ed has had one too many falls from his surfboard.
Not funny, not true.
Rachel Reeves is the continuity Conservative chancellor

Today is my foodbank day. It will surprise The Daily Mail that many of our clients are in work, important work.
They are strivers not shirkers.

Switching between the Arsenal game and Championship games last night and realised I much prefer Bramall Lane and The Hawthorns to the Emirates Stadium.

Confused. Is a worker whose low wage needs topping up by the state a striver or a resident of Benefit Street?
November 27, 2025 at 5:03 AM
Poor Chris. He's just been outbid on eBay for the life sized inflatable Nigel Farage he'd set his heart on.

The landlord of a Yorkshire pub is sometimes known as T'Publican.

I love the news conference by Rachel Reeves on Sky News. The cross section of people behind her is rather nice to see.
November 26, 2025 at 4:05 PM
Sam Coates on Sky News is doing a pretty good impression of a bloke whose puppy has just died.
Questioning whether the OBR forecasts are too favourable for Labour.
Give it a rest, fella

There are many responses to the appalling speech from Kemi Badenoch but one, for sure, isn't Prime Minister in Waiting.
November 26, 2025 at 2:10 PM
Remember the Monty Python sketch when Michael Palin was trying to buy an argument and accidentally entered the room for abuse.
Uncannily like Badenoch's response to the #Budget.
November 26, 2025 at 2:04 PM
I hope Kemi Badenoch kept the receipts for the advice she got from charm school.
She'll need them for a refund.

There are goldfish with better memories than Badenoch.
95% of the problems faced by Labour are a result of 14 years of Tory incompetence and negligence.

Badenoch's response is a mixture of anger and arrogance.
Just wearisome whinging from an annoying Sixth Form student.
November 26, 2025 at 1:48 PM
The misogynistic "Rachel from Accounts" has never looked so tired, unfunny and inappropriate.
Reeves is very impressive.

I speak for every third child whose family unexpectedly found themselves needing to live on Benefits that the removal of the cap is bloody good news.

It's not particularly exciting #Budget but I don't want thrills with my money and security.
Sometimes, the game calls for a Geoffrey Boycott or Chris Tavare innings.

Just a question of who'll win the contest to be the salivating anti government TV hack of the day.
Too close to call between Sam Coates and Chris Mason, IMHO.
Today's the day we're going to see the most scrutinised and most talked about (lied about) budget in British history, no matter what is said today it'll be attack after attack after attack, the tories fucked the economy and now all eyes are on Labour to fix it in less than 2 years.

A very moving and courageous interview. Vivid is the key word. Even though it was over 40 years the hurt is still there to see.
Farage has the brass neck to say his words weren't hurtful, the twat.
"My most vivid memories of my school life is Farage repeatedly coming up to me, knowing that I was Jewish, saying 'Hitler was right' and 'gas em' and that was frequently followed by imitating the sound of escaping gas."

Peter Ettedgui, ex classmate of Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage.

He also believes using a Ramones song to flog electrical goods is acceptable.
November 26, 2025 at 9:57 AM
Farage was an odious racist at school? Really?
November 26, 2025 at 9:52 AM
Watched the Boro game last night. Hayden Hackney was brilliant. I hope the recruitment geniuses at Thorp Arch are aware of the talent 50 miles up the road and hope Ayling and Howson are having a quiet word.

The biased Reform heavy insights of Chris Mason hide the fact that he's also a terrible writer.
November 26, 2025 at 5:17 AM
Hayden Hackney is a terrific player. Would be an asset to #lufc.
