So we have the Vietnam War memorial honoring the 58,000+ that died during the entire Vietnam War. I think it would be fitting to build a similar memorial every year for the 51,000 Americans that will die because of the healthcare cuts, and we can engrave all Dem and GOP that made it happen in stone.

While those Senate Dems caved, I do believe that this will hasten the swearing in of the new Congresswoman from Arizona and the release of the Epstein files. Wait, who am I kidding, they’ll find a way to botch that too.

Fun fact: there are only ~2 homeless people per church in the United States. If you are part of a church, or run one, are you not able to care for 2 people?

While winning elections is great, let’s avoid the yo-yo of, phew, things are getting better, I can go back to my normal life. The key to sustainable political change is to look inwards at ourselves and make sustainable changes in our lives and our awareness. Ego on either side causes bad outcomes.

What if there was a law banning owning second homes or allowing any corporate-owned housing unit from being vacant if there are any homeless people? I feel like suddenly they would find a way to end homelessness. Same for food insecurity. 100% tax rate on income above $500k until it doesn’t exist.

History doesn’t repeat but dang it seems like it does. I highly recommend watching this documentary about Caligula to see how the same stuff keeps happening again and again.

What if income tax was at least partially based on your physical location? Rural people really resent paying taxes that support people in cities. So don’t make them pay for that, it’s not a big loss since rural areas are a small fraction of the population, and they make little money. And vice versa!

With the latest polls showing Trump’s approval at historic lows of ~35%, we find ourselves in the strange circumstance where there are more “minorities” than Trump supporters in America. Is this some sort of invisible Rubicon?

What if we stopped talking about what we don’t like and started doing things that improve people’s lives? What if we did those things because it was the right thing to do even if there’s no direct personal benefit, and even a cost (in time and resources)? It’s hard to hate someone who is helping you

The tariffs seem to be designed to destroy any remaining power the middle class has, including ownership of small businesses, since the mega corporations will be the only ones that can survive. If they say it’s to benefit America or bring manufacturing back, we know for sure it’s something else.

People act like a wealth tax is some kind of dangerous new thing when in fact it’s an everyday occurrence. It’s called property tax. What’s weird is the “homeowner” pays 100% of this wealth tax even though most have a mortgage. The lender should pay their fair share of the wealth tax.

Everyone is angry and it is real. My approach is to understand the REASONS for the anger. If you’ve had a toddler you know that while emotions are always real, they aren’t always helpful, or based on good reasons. Wanting that candy is not a better reason than the benefit of avoiding too much sugar.

Am I the only one that sees the irony that a nation founded on the ideals of freedom and independence is so hopelessly obsessed with party loyalty? If America was true to its ideals there would be 340 million political parties.

One thing I hate about social media is the top-down social engineering. How about no limits on content length and let the market decide? YouTube seems to work just fine.
