Last week saw the launch of the REPAiR project in Madagascar. The event was held in collaboration with the IKI Growing Greener project, and aimed to engage those involved in restoration in Madagascar’s rangelands, including the government and NGOs.

'Nature-based solutions' could help care for rangelands and grasslands. But much of the evidence about them comes from the global North.

We ask how such approaches might apply to Southern African rangelands, if they are designed and led by people who live and work there.
