I am encouraged by the news of a deal between Israel and Hamas to return the remaining hostages from Gaza.

It is my sincere hope that this agreement will put an end to this war, allow much-needed humanitarian aid into Gaza and serve as a first step toward lasting peace and security in the region.

The lie: Mike Johnson says Republicans are “working around the clock” to end the shutdown.

The truth: Republicans have only worked 14 days since July and are using this shutdown as vacation.
