Honored to represent California's 44th District, #CA44. House Democrats Steering & Policy Co-Chair, Member of Energy and Commerce Committee, Progressive Caucus. Dodgers fan.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social and @oversightdemocrats.house.gov held a hearing today in LA to hold Trump and his admin accountable for their war on immigrants. We highlighted the abuses of their mass deportation machine and how they violate the civil rights and liberties of the people.

Honored to commemorate Jesse Marquez, an environmental champion and fearless advocate from #Wilmington, on the House floor.

Let’s ask Republicans what they’ve done to help hardworking Americans. (Hint: Not a damn thing).

VILE AND DISGUSTING. No President should threaten death against Americans who remind the military and intelligence services of their responsibility to follow the Constitution.

Trump needs to take down those posts STAT and House Republicans must condemn Trump for his dangerous, violent rhetoric.
The President of the United States just called for my arrest and execution.

In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage:

House Republicans all KNEW, when they voted for a bill that failed to protect health care for millions, that they were also voting to line the pockets of 8 Republican Senators. They could have stripped it out then — they didn’t. This corrupt money grab happened because House Republicans let it.
House to vote on repealing shutdown deal provision allowing $500,000 lawsuits from senators
House lawmakers are moving quickly to repeal a provision that allows senators to sue for $500,000 over phone record seizures. It's unclear what the Senate will do.

Release the Epstein files. NOW.

The House passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Now the Senate needs to pass it and Trump must sign it. The survivors deserve justice and the American people deserve the truth.

Republican corruption — plain and simple. Public servants should not take millions in taxpayer dollars to line their own pockets.

The fight’s not over. I Voted NO earlier this week on a Senate Republican bill that failed to protect affordable health care for tens of millions of Americans.

Republicans have NO plan to save affordable health care — and they still passed a spending bill that allows the health care tax credits to expire.

Jesse Marquez was a champion for environmental justice, healthier communities, and clean air. Thanks to his tireless advocacy, our communities are better protected from port pollution and chemical disasters.

Gracias, Jesse. Thanks to you, our communities are safer and healthier. Rest in Power.

A sitting Member of Congress should not face a penalty for doing her job. A Member of Congress carried out her duty and tried to conduct congressional oversight at an ICE facility out of concern for her constituents.
Today’s decision is disappointing. I am not in this fight only for myself, and I’m concerned that this decision will simply embolden the administration.

This case is not over. I am committed to protecting my community, our people, and our country.

This fight is not over. @housedemocrats.bsky.social fought to the final vote to protect Americans’ health care— and we will continue to fight to extend the tax credits so millions of Americans can afford the skyrocketing costs of Trump and Republicans’ health care crisis.

Today, we honor our veterans for Veterans Day. But last night, Senate Republicans passed a spending bill that fails to extend the tax credits that help lower health costs for millions of Americans, including more than half a million veterans.

Senate Republicans’ spending bill fails to extend the tax credits that help make health care more affordable for millions of American families.

Trump and Republicans created a health care crisis in America. Senate Republicans’ spending bill will let the health care tax credits expire, causing insurance premiums to skyrocket next year.
Senators advance tentative deal to end the government shutdown
The deal, negotiated by a group of Democrats and GOP leaders, funds the government through Jan. 30. If it passes, it still needs to clear the House, which will likely take days.

The fight to lower healthcare costs for Americans continues, with the same level of commitment and fight that Americans deserve. The Senate bill fails to meet the moment to bring costs down to ensure affordable health care for all Americans.
