Republicans are doubling down on Trump’s obsession with taking over Greenland and introduced a bill to make it the 51st state.

On #TheFlipSide, Democrats are working to get taxpaying, American citizens in D.C. statehood.

Trump is barreling forward to try to give California coastlines to big Oil billionaires. I went up and down the North Coast this month to hear from people in our communities who would actually be impacted by more drilling. Their message was loud and clear: NO.

The average household in California is paying an additional $2,355 in higher costs because of Trump's idiotic policies.

Housing payments, grocery bills, transportation costs, and energy bills are all skyrocketing.

The American people can’t afford this incompetent president.

What ICE is doing in Minneapolis and cities across the country is horrifying, and I wanted to share an update on what I’m doing here in Congress.

We're only a year into Trump 2.0, but he’s wasted no time torching our public lands and resources and the communities that cherish them. From massive cuts to sell-offs for billionaires to destructive policies, Trump has shown no signs of letting up.
Our national parks. Our public lands. Our coastlines. Our clean air and water. Our clean energy future.

A year into Trump's second term and this corrupt Republican Congress, all of it is under attack, all so billionaires and Big Oil can get even richer.

I'm thrilled my team and I secured community project funding for the Trinity Public Utilities District’s new Sno-cat. Keeping our power on during harsh winter weather conditions is critical, and this new machine will make that much easier.

This week on #TheFlipSide, the House has been completely turned upside down because Republicans would rather strip hard-working Americans’ wages and rights than address this cost-of-living crisis. But us reasonable adults in Congress aren’t standing for it.

Trump is endangering Americans for the sake of polluters.

These standards exist for a reason. Refusing to consider the health impacts of some of the deadliest pollutants when setting emission standards will cost thousands of lives.
EPA says it will no longer consider health costs in pollution regulations
The EPA weakened emissions standards for new power plants and said it would no longer consider the economic impacts of public health in rule making.

Trump's denialist policies are completely derailing progress.

Climate change is not a hoax or political agenda. It's a science-backed crisis that threatens our environment, future generations, and everything in between – and I’m going to keep working to stop it.

Thanks to Trump's extreme policies and tariffs, inflation has become a runaway train, and there are no signs it's slowing down. From groceries to housing, the affordability crisis is out of control – and Republicans are pushing bills to make things even harder.

The American people deserve better.

Trump just made the biggest economic self-sabotage in U.S. history.

American workers and families deserve a livable planet and the good-paying jobs that come with climate action, not a president who sells out their future to billionaire polluters.

After months of fighting Trump and Speaker Johnson, House Democrats succeeded in passing a bill to lower costs for millions of Americans whose premiums are skyrocketing.

This is HUGE. Now, the Senate just needs to finish the job.
Living in America is already expensive enough, and people like my constituent Corrie cannot afford higher health care premiums.

House Democrats have been fighting for months to save the Affordable Care Act tax credits, and today we're finally voting to make that happen.

Businesses, homes, and roads in our district were completely inundated by recent floods. This week, I visited some of the hardest hit sites in San Rafael and up Highway 101 to see the damage up close. We’re in this together, and I’ll keep working with local officials to help our community recover.

It's an honor and a privilege to represent the North Coast in Congress. 2026 is already off to the races – but I’d like to share a look back at what we accomplished last year. Check out our 2025 wrap-up here:

It's been a year since wildfires devastated Los Angeles. I've seen firsthand how these disasters ravage our communities and how important federal support is as we rebuild.

We need to invest in preventing and minimizing wildfires—not denying climate change and defunding research and mitigation work.

(2/2) I am committed to remembering the truth, preventing anything similar ever again, and strengthening our democracy for future generations.
(1/2) Five years ago, Trump incited a violent insurrection on our Capitol and on our democracy. Law enforcement bravely fought them off, and multiple officers lost their lives.

But since then, Republicans have whitewashed what happened, and Trump even pardoned the violent rioters.

Thank you to all the brave first responders who jumped into action to put out the Arcata fires. Your quick response kept this from being even worse.

My team and I will do everything we can to help our community rebuild.

Shutting down research centers like the National Center for Oceanic Research robs Americans of critical weather data we need to stay safe. Climate change is fueling extreme weather events and natural disasters.

Trump’s refusal to accept that and his relentless attacks on science will cost lives.

We're just days away from the Republican health care cliff. Their solution? Pushing a fake plan that raises costs, kicks millions off their coverage, and takes away women's freedom to make their own health care decisions.

I will not vote for something that makes people’s lives worse.
December 17, 2025 at 10:22 PM
As if raising costs wasn’t enough, the GOP’s “health care” bills will strip insurance coverage for safe, legal abortions and jail parents of transgender young people who make health care decisions for their child.

These extremist bills are robbing Americans of their freedoms.
