WIC loses funds each day Republicans refuse to call us back to open the government. CT made the choice to prioritize women & children, continuing to fund the program.
I am a cosponsor of the CARE For WIC During Shutdowns Act, which reimburses states for the costs to cover WIC.
Thank you Gov. Lamont.

This legislation will not pass in its current form. Instead of Republicans coming to the table to negotiate, they have dug in and think they can bully Democrats into accepting these harmful cuts.

Come back to the table and negotiate something we can all get behind!

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” 🧐

The Senate has voted on this CR 7x’s. And all 7x’s it has failed.

Votes cancelled AGAIN!
The Speaker needs to call the House back into session. Republicans want the majority, yet they don’t want to legislate.
Mike Johnson do your job!

I joined a call with End Citizens United, dozens of organizations and hundreds of callers to address the Republican shutdown of the government, focusing on contrasting their cuts with the Democrats plan to stand firm and work together to save healthcare and lower costs for working families.

President Trump can stop this shutdown. He fully understands what this means and he has the power to bring negotiators together to come to a resolution.

I’m sure this has absolutely nothing to do with swearing in Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva
(D-AZ07) who puts us at #218 on the discharge petition to release the Epstein files 🧐

No amount of spin changes that. Democrats will continue to protect healthcare for the American people!

Pres. Reagan signed the Emergency Medical Treatment & Active Labor Act, requiring all Medicare-participating hospitals with emergency depts. to provide a medical screening & stabilizing treatment to ANY individual with an emergency medical condition, regardless of ability to pay or insurance status.

It is a lie peddled by Republicans that the ACA covers undocumented individuals. The ACA law states that an “individual must be a citizen or national of the United States or an alien lawfully present in the United States” to purchase a plan. Democrats have not proposed any changes to that provision.

The Connecticut Delegation came together with Access Health CT to stress what is at stake if Affordable Care Act subsidies expire. Over 150,000 people in our state get healthcare through the exchange, yet every person will be affected as premiums, copays & deductibles skyrocket.

We are less than 12 hours away from a government shutdown. @HouseDemocrats are in D.C. ready to negotiate a deal that gets us to a place that cancels the cuts, lowers costs and protects healthcare.
Republicans are nowhere to be found.

The Republican Big Beautiful Bill, combined with their refusal to extend #ACA healthcare tax credits, means 34.5k people in #CT05 will lose their coverage entirely. I am fighting to protect & expand health care, not rip it away from our most vulnerable.

25,000 people in #CT05 are facing a 62% healthcare premium increase if ACA tax credits expire.

This will cost an average of $1,735 more per person, per year.

The Connecticut Association for Community Action invited the CT delegation to participate in a virtual roundtable to discuss the impact of a government shutdown on low-income residents. Cuts to federal programs will negatively affect the programs & services our most vulnerable neighbors rely on.
