Republicans have given the green light for Donald Trump and Kristi Noem to unleash untrained ICE agents on the American people.

That’s dangerous, unacceptable, and it shatters trust between communities and law enforcement.
February 7, 2026 at 3:46 PM
ICE agents are operating with near-total impunity—violating constitutional rights and terrorizing communities.

That ends now.

I introduced the Qualified Immunity Accountability Act to hold law-breaking agents accountable. No one is above the law.

Grateful to attend the National Prayer Breakfast with Pastor David Wilson from Dallas’ own Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Moments like this remind us of the power of unity and service—and the role our faith leaders play in building stronger communities across Texas.

This morning, I stood with @housedemocrats.bsky.social to call out ICE for terrorizing American communities.

This violence is unacceptable.

The abuse of power must end—and Kristi Noem must be impeached.

No reform. No accountability. No funding.

ICE agents have been running rogue, terrorizing our communities, and trampling constitutional rights.

I will not vote for a single dollar for the Department of Homeland Security until that ends.
February 3, 2026 at 12:17 AM
ICE agents cannot be allowed to operate with impunity.

Today, I introduced the Qualified Immunity Accountability Act to hold federal law enforcement accountable when civil rights are violated.

No one is above the Constitution. Accountability matters.

Drip-feeding the Epstein files isn’t transparency—it’s a cover-up.

Trump and Bondi are still breaking the law. Release every file, tell the full truth, and hold everyone who committed crimes accountable.
We will get justice. Release all the files now.

Arresting journalists for doing their jobs is a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

This is authoritarianism—plain and simple. We cannot normalize it. We cannot stay silent.

When one person’s rights are trampled, all of our rights are at risk.

Don Lemon must be released.
This just in: "Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy awards," Lemon's attorney Abbe Lowell says.

On #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay, we remember the millions of Jewish lives murdered in the Holocaust and the millions more persecuted by the Nazis.

We remember the dangers of hatred and silence—and recommit ourselves to ensuring it never happens again.

ICE is out of control—terrorizing communities and killing Americans for exercising their First Amendment rights.

A badge is not a license to violate the Constitution.

Noem must be held accountable—and DHS should not receive one penny of Americans’ tax dollars.
January 26, 2026 at 1:25 AM
On Wednesday, I introduced legislation to mandate investigations into every ICE-involved shooting & limit qualified immunity for ICE officers.

Republicans voted it down.

By refusing to rein in ICE, Trump and Noem have effectively given agents a green light to act with impunity—terrorizing communities and killing American citizens.

This agency is completely out of control, operating without oversight or accountability.

This cannot continue.
January 24, 2026 at 6:29 PM
ICE agents, under Secretary Noem's watch, are out of control—violating constitutional rights and shattering trust in law enforcement.

Families across this country are living in fear. This lawlessness must end.

We need accountability now.

North Texas—winter weather is moving through our area, and conditions can change quickly. Please check on neighbors who may need help and take precautions to stay warm and safe.

Stay informed through local alerts, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance. Stay safe, Dallas.

On the anniversary of #RoeVWade, it's critical to #KnowYourRights as Republicans continue to attack reproductive freedom, seeking to strip Americans of their basic rights.

As a proud member of @reprocaucus.bsky.social & @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, I am committed to safeguarding access to abortion.

Today, the House votes on Department of Homeland Security funding. I offered 4 commonsense amendments to rein in ICE abuses:

1️⃣ Limit qualified immunity
2️⃣ Require Miranda rights
3️⃣ Guarantee due process hearings
4️⃣ Investigate ICE shootings

Republicans rejected every single one.

🚨 QUICK UPDATE FROM WASHINGTON 🚨

House Republicans are rushing a DHS funding bill to the floor.

I’m a NO—and I’m going to the Rules Committee to push amendments and hold DHS accountable before Republicans ram this bill through.

In a few minutes, I will be speaking live against a bill that funds the Department of Homeland Security, and in support of amendments to protect people’s constitutional rights.

In 2025, families paid $1,210 more because of Trump’s inflation.

While costs soar for working people, Trump keeps handing out tax breaks to those at the top.

Families deserve relief. I’ll keep fighting to lower costs and make life more affordable.
January 20, 2026 at 7:47 PM
Secretary Kristi Noem is leading a department that is out of control.

She has failed to rein in her agents, failed to stop constitutional violations, and failed to uphold her oath.

She has to go.
January 20, 2026 at 7:26 PM
I refuse to let Trump or Secretary Noem trample the constitutional rights of due process and free speech.

Republicans are looking the other way as ICE violates the rights of Americans.

Their silence is shameful.

Renee Good, a loving mother of three, lost her life at the hands of the U.S. government.

We cannot allow unqualified, untrained ICE agents to terrorize people who are simply exercising their First Amendment rights.

Accountability is not optional.

On #MLKDay, I’m reflecting on the honor of spending time last year with Martin Luther King III.

Dr. King’s legacy isn’t just history — it’s a call to action to keep pushing for justice, dignity, and equality for all, even in the most difficult of times.
