It does not have an English release it looks like, but the J-Talk article gave me a good idea of what it’s about and I’ll probably pick it up at some point.
I googled 店長がバカすぎて since it came up on my feed, which then led me to discover it’s by the same author who wrote Royal Family which I’m currently watching the drama for. And then when I googled if there was an English translation it led me to Japanese Talk’s review. So many unexpected connections!
It takes forever, but can finally buy outfits from the posh shop in Kalos. Suit time!
After 16 years Mamoru and Shunly ended Namako, though it didn’t feel like a final episode since it was the same laidback atmosphere as always. I wish I’d started watching it sooner and been less hung up on my language skills to even try, I missed out on so much. But we can only move forward not back
That said, I enjoyed what did get published so although it seems to be in limbo now I'm not particularly unhappy if that's all we ever see.
Finished Engaging with the Plot: A Former Cat’s Attempt to Save Her Now Temporary Fiancé volume 2 last night. It brings most of the main storyline to an end with some stuff left open to carry on. The web novel did continue, but not enough for a third vol and hasn't been updated since early 2024.
Caught a shiny Fletcling yesterday, wish I’d found it earlier since I’ve raised one all the way at this point. Still cool tho, second shiny so far!
I found best Pokemon so we’re all good now.
That’s awful, especially when they rescheduled it after the last time. Really sorry to hear :(
I think it was Noibat’s fault since it set me on the vampire theme for names back then. XD still love that silly thing.
Y'know I vaguely recall it being Kalos where I had Pokémon nicknamed after the Vampire Knight trio. Which was fine for Kaname and Yuki, but Zero was not a good name lol. My nicknames this time around don't really have a theme yet, I'm just throwing out whatever works.
Certainly not doing my backlog any good that’s for sure!
Bookcase arrived and built. \o/

Good timing ‘cause my September books are here. I understand why I had to pay so much in shipping now, these were heavy…
Mostly I just dislike the ‘you can’t learn x from y’ ‘cause you almost always can, just as a part of a wider set of things. And immersion with a thing you enjoy is a very, very powerful tool. (I feel like I said all this recently…)
LRP: At some point I’m gonna write another language blog ‘cause I sure have levelled up a lot this year from tossing myself into the deep end watching those Seiyu to Yoasobi streams. Is anime (or that) gonna teach you a whole language? Absolutely not, but there’s nuance to the use of it as you go.

Just saw a post that said you can't learn Japanese from watching anime and I agree but also don't agree.

Watching any old anime won't be as helpful as slice of life, which can help with more commonly used words and phrases.

AND you still need to study Japanese to actually learn the language.
It was surprisingly difficult to find something to fit since I have a hard limit on width and height, but have a lot of depth and didn’t wanna end up with something that doesn’t take advantage of that. Like I always _desperately_ need book space, so I don’t wanna be compromising y’know.
New bookcase on the way to make better use of some space I have beside my desk. Will finally be able to file away this stack of art books and magazines that I’ve not had a good place for. Also more room for merch to sit on top, which was not the goal but…
I generally hated the first book of this series, but it does start getting better in Vol 2 onward. Kind of the same trajectory as Tomozaki-kun (which I just found boring in vol 1 but love now). So, I would say it’s a series that rewards sticking around
Noooo. Although at least it won’t be confusing next time there’s a new one I guess
I stared at the listings for this forever since the prequel volume is 君は夏のなか and given all they did for the sequel is change the は to a と, I wasn’t entirely convinced it wasn’t just a renamed rerelease as it was supposedly finished before. Final volume for real this time, maybe?
