Was rummaging through some of my retro-related photos from last year and found this. I really need to set the IIGS up again 😍

Latest retro coding book acquisition, and continuing my building of the Inside Macintosh collection.

This thing is huge - hard to tell the exact page count because of the way its broken down into sections but still, it gives War and Peace a run for its money.
Inside Macintosh: Quicktime, technical book. side view showing book is thicker than a whale omelette.

New arrival. Never owned this at the time, written by R J Mical himself apparently, with Susan Deyl.

Written in a very clear style, should come in very handy.

Yeah, I felt like this back in January.
Screenshot of Alias in Curse of the Azure Bonds. She mutters: "I can't believe they're bringing back that rotting heap of garbage. Who could worship a god like that?"

I bought two issues - including this one. I wanted to get the first ever issue, little bit of history here 😎
Issue One of Freeze64, with Monty Mole on the cover.

Pong Wars simulation for Acorn Electron and BBC Micro/Master. This fun little project was inspired by pong-wars.koenvangilst.nl. After coding a prototype in BBC BASIC, I created this 6502 asm version. I hope you enjoy! github.com/0xC0DE6502/p...

Sorry to hear that Roy. My dad has early dementia, it's the main reason I came back to the UK, to help look after him. There are groups in and out of the NHS to support you and your family through it, if it does turn out that way. We've not used them much yet but it's good to know help is available.

4. Atari Falcon

Been coding on this wonderful machine, thanks to some source code an old colleague of mine gave me a while back to play with. Been making it more standardised for TOS and able to work on the Falcon, while looking to improve and release the music app itself (it was never released).
An Atari Falcon 030 connected to a Fujitsu Siemens 4:3 VGA monitor, showing a music app called "Melodiman" running. Some of the Melodiman source code, with a fix added by me.

3. BBC Master 128K

Finally got one of these now I'm back in the UK 😍 Added new sockets for the ROMs, a Gotek and SD card reader to load stuff, replaced the clock chip with a modern equivalent and played lots of games I've never played before - though mainly Level 9 adventures and Repton.
A BBC Master 128K with a Gotek sitting on top and a old SCART flatscreen TV showing a text adventure from Level 9 with a graphic of a house. You can just about see the user guide for the machine on the right (and a lot of other cool stuff / mess).

2. Macintosh LC 475

Recapped the PSU which had started to behave erratically (fish smell galore when the caps came off). This repair led me to playing a lot of Curse of the Azure Bonds, which has a fantastic outing on the 68k Mac.
TDK PSU from the LC475, partially recapped at the point his image was taken. A Dell monitor showing Curse of the Azure Bonds running on a Macintosh LC 475. There's also a Mac IIci sitting underneath that, currently switched off.

The original schematic has mandatory mods on it 😁 Fortunately, those were already done on this one as far as I can tell.

There *is* a power mod required though and I haven't done it yet. I've not even dared turn it on until I replace the regulator and caps (and possibly T4 and T5 transistors).

NES game development on a Commodore 128. At Software Creations we used C128s for some of our early NES games - Solstice, Fast Break, World Games. The C128 based development system hardware and software was written by Mike Webb. This video shows me loading up the NES Magic Johnson's Fast Break code.

5. ZX Spectrum 48k DK'Tronics Keyboard

Grabbed this off eBay, as it holds a lot of nostalgia for me (the keyboard). It has an Issue Two Speccy inside, which I still need to grab some parts for to make sure it won't fail on start up. It will be saved!
