I'm happy to say that after a ten-year hiatus from writing books, I'm back in the "Author" business. Thanks to a recently-signed deal with The Herald Press, I'll be writing a book on Christian Pacifism, due out next Spring. I'm so happy to be working on the next volume in my literary corpus.
Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.
Somehow, I doubt anyone on this chat will get treated as harshly as, say, the president of an Ivy League school where Students protested a genocide.
I'm hoping my forthcoming book puts me ahead of Donald Trump in line for the Nobel Peace Prize. Not that I think I'll win said award, but I do want to finish ahead of the guy who provokes and international incident every time an escalator doesn't work.
From my forthcoming book, "Grace Over Guns," (due out June of '26).
Lasted, what, 12 minutes?
More from my forthcoming book's rough draft. Incidentally, Herald Press has given my book a new title: "Grace Over Guns: Pursuing Peace in a Militarized World." It's set to be released in a year.
In which a sports business empire owned by a Roman Catholic, Italian American family buys a controlling interest in a soccer club with (and this is no exaggeration) the world most rabidly anti-Catholic fan base. Pass the popcorn. Things could get interesting.

Clergy actually do pay taxes. Churches don’t. But his personal income is taxed. Not that accuracy matters on social media.
Thank you. And it’s possible
—imperative even—that we can oppose all totalitarian regimes regardless of political ideology.
This part will probably remain in my book...
Now that is a question every author wants to answer! They are still in print and should be available to order wherever you buy books—Amazon or your local bookshop (the latter always being better for authors) thanks!
Here's something I wrote from a book I'm writing. It's good, but it didn't work where I'd written it, so for now it's been cut from the book. It may yet make it back in, but for now, because I think it deserves to be read, I'm publishing it on social media.
Just did an interview for German radio. The journalist wanted to know what my progressive church is doing in the Trump 2.0. Here's the thing: it's clear that the German guy was scared about what was going to happen in the United States, and he was scared because he grew up in postwar Germany. Scary.
Just like in Narnia. The first thing Lucy saw in the land where it was always winter and never Christmas was a lamp post.
Interestingly if you were to write dumb fuck—weasels that would require not a hyphen but an n-dash (as opposed to an m-dash) which until recently I didn’t even know was a thing.
Honestly, I usually feel like I'm flying blind as I try to put one foot in front of the other, spiritually and emotionally. It's damn hard and I'm suffering from insomnia, but I'm doing what I can. Its all any of us can do.
Not really, but as a preacher I have a pulpit & I'm using it. I'm writing a book on pacifism, which feels like an antifascist thing to do. I'm trying to grieve without allowing the MAGAists to take my life's joy; I'm trying to be honest about things without surrendering my sense of hope.
We’re living through the end of the illusion of American Exceptionalism. Turns out we are as capable of evil as any other awful nation in human history. This is not a lesson I wanted to learn in such a concrete manner.
Further evidence of my forthcoming book.
